Alfred's Funeral

Alright, well, shoot. Alfred, my computer, has finally died. And with him, he has taken many of my pictures. About a month ago I knew he was dying (that's a lie, I've known it for a while, but a month ago I backed up all my pictures) but I have no clue how I'm going to get those off of there. Crap!!!! Oh well. Here's an update in a nutshell, without pictures. Sorry :(

The week we got back from Fall Break was lazy heaven. We just needed to chill after that. I spent the weekend catching up on some homework, then Sunday I went out with Laura (my Italian friend), and once again some of her friends, some of mine. They took us to a little town in the hills about an hour away, and we ate at this big family restaurant, and just laughed and ate and talked and ate, and ate some more. Then we ended the day with a rousing game of soccer, or calcio as it's called here. It was great!!! This last Thursday Laura and I got together again. This time she took me to her house, and we took her dog for a walk (she's so cute!!) and exchanged pictures, stories, and recipes.

The next weekend was Rome. If I ever manage to resurrect them, there are some great pictures. Otherwise you can look at the ones on Facebook that others have tagged of me. But without my pictures I can never quite remember what happened or what stories to tell. I'm sorry I'm at such a loss!! But Rome was truly amazing! We had a tour guide show us around the ruins, had Mariotti show us around some more ruins and the rest of the city, went out to dinner on the square, fell in love with the fountain of the river gods, and that was just the first day:). We also saw the museums, villas, coliseums, ruins, fountains, and wandered to our hearts' contents. It was great! I really liked Rome. Perhaps I will write more when/if I get pictures here. Sorry to keep ranting about that, but it just happened, so I'm QUITE frustrated.

And then this weekend, I headed of to Prague! I feel like if I had come straight from the US, Prague would have been wonderful and magical. Now don't get me wrong, it was still beautiful, however after 4 months of Gothic architecture, renaissance churches, countless museums, and just Europe culture in general, Prague was Prague. The fun part of Prague were our hosts. We stayed the first night at my friend Ashley's boyfriend's place. He's from Madison, but studying in Prague for the semester. He has got some pretty crazy roommates! However crazy though, it was nice to just hang with guys again. I miss that. Then the second two nights, Mitch's family came to visit (and for the rest of the week), so we got to stay in their apartment. Not only did they let us stay, but they took us out to Brunch, and then on Sunday night, we all got together and made a make-shift Thanksgiving dinner! It was so great! It felt like a big family dinner again. Homey. Other than that we did the Villa vacation tradition of just wandering around the city. Prague has a great night life, which is a bit unfortunate for me, the go out once or twice a week be home by midnight and that's plenty girl :). But it was fun. We got back this morning, and now I'm trying to take care of some things before heading to Switzerland on Wednesday. Whirlwind!!!
